"Us of Him" is a product designed to create a fundamentally different approach to developing Christians in faith. It is designed to address and affirm many of the common complaints associated with evangelical and classical church expressions. Read that again. We affirm many of the common complaints. We affirm these complaints because we too have them. We are utterly obsessed with the True Person of Jesus, His purposes, and His heart. If there is anything that gets in the way of an individual experiencing Him, we are more than willing to set it aside. We must do this in a way that honors God, His Word, and His heart. This requires intense scrutiny, humility, and honesty. We do not pretend to have all the answers. However, we believe God has been authoring something in our hearts dating back almost 20 years for this very purpose. "Us or Him" in its simplest form asks, "Why are my current faith experiences leaving me feeling like Jesus isn't fulfilling His promises for a full life? Is it my fault (Us) or His fault (Him)?" With that basic fundamental question, we address common assumptions and practices of Christian faith expression and development for the purpose of letting go of those things that Jesus Himself would not affirm or teach.

Common complaint #1: "I just can't trust how the church uses my money for their buildings and salaries. I feel like all they want is my money." The reality is that money in the 21st century is required to function. We sell this as a product for two primary reasons. 1) We can offer returns. 2) We will not ask for money. We can offer returns. Nonprofits make many promises and tell many stories regarding the need for money and how it is being used and the difference that it makes. There is no guarantee nor promise of effectiveness for your investment. As a product, we get to offer returns should the product not meet your expectations. We can't do the work of God to change your heart and mind. We can't guarantee that. However, if you are not impacted by the words and work that we produce than your money should go somewhere else. It's that simple for us. Second, we believe that with your $20 purchase we can help rewrite your personal expectations of faith, how to use your money and time, and share honestly. When you are not accountable to donors and wooing them to your side (and keeping them on your side), you are free to question openly and freely. We will not ask for money. How nice is that?! I'm not going to work to win you to the Kingdom of God nor to me as a teacher just to follow it up with, "Now we need your money so we can continue to do what we've done for you." To be honest, I simply hate asking for money. A product allows you to consider the expected value and invest accordingly. Finally, this addresses the all too common complaint of ministries asking for your money.

This is the part where I should put down a resume and tell you all our qualifications. Please know that I take incredibly seriously the Scripture, "Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness" (James 3:1). I spent nights awake while in professional ministry considering if I was teaching what the Spirit was asking me to teach. It was a fundamental reason behind leaving ministry professionally. The teachings you will find here are our best attempts to honor God, the Scriptures, and people. Really, my assumption is that you're here because you've already heard about us and our teachings and style. We promise honesty, authenticity, and humility. The end.
